Frontcountry Tramper inspires and encourages Kiwis who may be hesitant about tramping to explore, enjoy, and appreciate our spectacular frontcountry.
Our contributors are Lachlan McKenzie and Kate Williman, who live in Wellington, New Zealand. Both were quickly seduced by tramping in our great outdoors—experiences that are all the more rewarding with great frontcountry food. They have been friends and tramping buddies since they first met at University of Otago in the early 2000s.
In the civilised world, Lachlan works in communications and Kate is a research scientist and policy advisor. When it’s time to log off—and when frontcountry tramping isn’t an option—Lachlan is an enthusiastic orienteer and part-time runner and Kate is an avid downhill and backcountry skier.
